Blueberry, Morello Cherry, Passion Fruit and Pear Lime French-style fruit gelée. These traditional confections date back to 10th century France and the days before refrigeration. Fresh fruit was preserved with sugar and made into jelly, some firm enough to cut into shapes. These pâtes de fruits (PAT-de-FWEE) became a bite-sized way to enjoy fresh fruit year-round and today the tradition lives on at Recchiuti.

I couldn’t stop
I love these treats. As a child, we knew them as jubesjubes, which our mother, sometimes, made and in similarly shaped bite size squares. However, the Recchiuti experience is a cut above. I love the bold richness of the fruity taste. It’s very easy to eat the contents of the entire box in one afternoon, without sharing! Try it with your favourite Sauvignon Blanc or champagne. :)
